Spring Break
As snow fell on Ocean County Feb 3, the college administration madethe decision to shut down the campus. This was the right decision to make, and it was handled in exemplary fashion. Students on campus were informed by security, at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Iam surprised at how many people have no idea what the job of a reporter entails. After last week's column, I thought people would have a greater understanding of the reporter's role in society. After reading this week's letter to the editor, I realize that is not true.
ccording to legend, "Shoeless" Joe Jackson of the 1919 ChicagoWhite Sox was approached by a child who said, "Say it ain't so, Joe," referring to allegations Jackson was one of the "eight men out" who took money to throw the World Series in what became known as the Black Sox Scandal.
There are effective student leaders at OCC, despite what a recent editorial suggests. The anonymous author of "Involvement: Leadership needed" writes "so-called student leaders often appear to be bobble head dolls for President John Larson" and "arrogance appears often apparent" from these "chosen few.
